Right out of the gate I earned a C- in my introductory philosophy class in 1974. A few years later when my fellow students brought this to my tutor, Dr. William Debbins', attention and after I'd been acing my tutorials, Dr. Debbins opined that I had been "overthinking" the intro philosophy class's multiple choice exams.
